Created during the English winter by the artist Katerina Knight, at a time when she relocated from London to the countryside in Malvern, she attempted to learn her new landscape, taking daily ritual walks, carefully foraging. However, now living close and exposed to a rural climate, extreme flooding and rising river levels created a barrier. She was forced into a period of hibernation, so Katerina turned to what nature had already gifted us, dahlia and lavender harvested from her allotment that summer.
As she connected the threads with petals she remained connected to nature and was reminded of the precious beauty of Earth’s offerings.
