Within Kerry Lemon's MRS ROE practice, these forget-me-not plants function as botanical signifiers of womxn’s ethnotanical knowledge. They operate as both instruction and invocation, insisting on remembrance of cultural memory and historical erasure. Each pattern is hand-engraved into brass, informed by hand embroidery, to place the labour of engraving in dialogue with historically feminised forms of making. A deliberate tension emerges between the permanence and monumentality of brass, often aligned with masculine sculptural traditions, and the ephemeral delicacy of the flower and the knowledge it represents.
