Ruup & Form is delighted to announce the upcoming exhibition 'Subtle Connections: Water and the Space in Between', which will explore the profound relationship between water, materiality, and meaning. As both a physical and symbolic force, water bridges the tangible and intangible, shaping our world in countless ways.

This exhibition invites audiences to experience water as an inspiration, a transformative medium, and a narrative thread woven into the showcased works. Through diverse artistic practices, the featured artists examine water as a symbol of life, renewal, migration, and survival, offering reflections on its role in human and ecological contexts. Subtle Connections delivers a rich, sensory exploration of art and life.

Featured Artists:

- Yolanda López, Mexico

Yolanda López is a multidisciplinary artist based between Mazatlán and Mexico City. Her work spans various media and techniques, focusing on the intersection of personal and collective memory, cartography, and the ways we inhabit the world. López’s work has been exhibited globally, with recent shows in Germany, Croatia, Greece, and Spain.

- Rebecca Scott, British

Rebecca Scott is a painter based in London and Cumbria, known for her representational works that delve into themes of female desire and subjectivity. A graduate of Chelsea School of Art and Goldsmiths, London, Scott’s “Scribble Paintings” juxtapose spontaneous marks with idealised imagery, questioning societal expectations and disrupting narratives.

- Ana Bridgewater, Spain/British

Ana Bridgewater is a sculptor whose work explores fluidity and weightlessness through porcelain and reclaimed wood. By combining hand-building techniques with organic materials, she creates sculptures that balance between earth and sky, reflecting her respect for nature and commitment to sustainability.

- Natascha Maksimovic, Germany/British

Natascha Maksimovic specialises in the Japanese art of Suminagashi marbling. Based in Margate, she creates bespoke, hand-marbled wallpapers and art, blending ancient techniques with modern design for private clients, commercial entities, and global brands.

- Katerina Knight, British

Katerina Knight is a textile artist and writer whose hand-crafted pieces are inspired by nature. After leaving a career in luxury fashion, Knight now embraces a slower, mindful approach to her practice. Her works have been exhibited internationally, and she contributes to Selvedge Magazine while lecturing at Hereford College of Art.

Ruup & Form has invited Stephanie Souroujon, an independent art historian specialising in crafts and decorative arts, to co-curate the exhibition. Stephanie has worked with institutions such as the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and focuses her research on historical and contemporary objects for religious spaces. She holds MAs in from SOAS and Christie’s Eductaion, and University of Glasgow.
