Join us for an engaging conversation with artist Katie Spragg, who will be joined by Annie Warburton to discuss the research and processes behind her artworks. Together, they will delve into the roles of social engagement, artist residencies, and material exploration in Katie's practice, highlighting the importance of place, conversation, and storytelling. 

 

About Katie Spragg

Katie is an artist and educator specializing in ceramics, often working collaboratively with others. Her work investigates plant behaviours to reconsider communities and nature, using clay-making as a medium for storytelling, reducing isolation, exchanging experiences, and fostering creativity and imagination.

 

About Annie Warburton

Annie Warburton is the Clerk and CEO at the Goldsmiths' Company. Having exhibited Katie’s work when creative director at the Crafts Council, she has followed her practice since her graduation from the Royal College of Art in 2016. Annie recently interviewed Katie for Resurgence and Ecologist Magazine.

 

The event will take place at Ruup & Form Gallery, 7 Tilney Court, EC1V 9BQ surrounded by Katie's animations and sculptures from the past six years, featured in the exhibition Porcelain Dreams.
