These works originate from my large-scale paintings. From each painting, I select specific sections and carefully cut out intricate vessel forms. My ceramic surfaces are inspired by the gestural marks and textures in these paintings, and this process becomes a literal translation of painted surfaces into sculptural forms.
Each colour collection is extremely limited, as all vessels are derived from a single painting. The palette of each new painting (and therefore each set of collages) is intuitive, often reflecting my inner thoughts and emotional state at the time of creation. The time of day subtly influences the tone: my mornings tend to be calm and optimistic, while later hours often carry a sense of growing unease, which is visible in the colour shifts and energy of the forms.
