Lena Krivenkova
Lena is a ceramic artist whose playful and intuitive practice brings to life vessel-shaped forms evocative of imaginary creatures. Abstract yet familiar, her sculptures explore gestures and actions that resonate with a sense of movement and life.
Beneath this light-heartedness lies a deeper significance as her work responds to important life changes, particularly her shift from Moscow to London in 2022 due to the invasion of Ukraine. Through clay, Lena processes her feelings of loss and the challenges of starting fresh in a foreign place.
With a background in illustration, she has always been passionate about observing people and storytelling, and now she animates her clay creations to create various narratives. These abstract sculptures reflect what Lena recognizes as important in her own life.
