Carla Wright British, b. 1984

Carla Wright is a British ceramicist and artist with a diverse educational background in fine art, book illustration, and painting. Her work explores themes of connection, cooperation, and togetherness, drawing inspiration from social housing, community architecture, and public gathering spaces. 
Wright's artistic journey includes a BA from Bath School of Art and Design, an MA from Chelsea College of Art & Design, and additional studies in book illustration and painting.
She has exhibited widely, with notable shows at the British Ceramics Biennial, Observer Building, and Towner Art Gallery, among others. Her solo exhibitions include "Granite Flows Towards You" at Coldens Gallery.Throughout her career, Wright has participated in various residencies, including The Edge Arts at Bath University and El Nogal International Residency in Madrid. Her work has been recognized with awards such as the A-N Artist Bursary and Arts Council Grants for the Arts.As the founder of Common Clay, a ceramics studio in Bexhill-on-Sea, Wright continues to push the boundaries of contemporary ceramic art, blending traditional techniques with modern aesthetics to create playful and thoughtful works.
