Jed Green is an artist and maker, exploring the poetic potential of everyday materials. Working predominantly at the intersection of jewellery, sculpture and design, each of her pieces consider how materials such as glass, metal, wood and pearls can carry memory, meaning and transformation.
Her practice has allowed her to expand on the notion of jewellery as both wearable and sculptural pieces of work. This is evident in her ongoing Wear/Display series, whereby Green revisits her earlier works, memories and milestones in order to reconfigure her past into new sculptural narratives. In this series, each piece exists in multiple states: displayed as sculpture, worn as jewellery, or used as containers, solidifying the notion that wearing, displaying or observing an object can shape its story.
Jed studied Jewellery at Kingsway College, London, has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from The Art School and a Higher Diploma in printmaking from The Slade School of Fine Art, London. She has had multiple exhibitions with Ruup & Form and regularly shows works at Goldsmiths Hall.
