Gwyneth Melling British, b. 2003

Gwyneth is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, textile, and embroidery. Her practice explores the boundaries between the real and the imagined, with stitch and fabric acting as portals into alternate worlds.

Working with soft sculpture, Gwyneth uses embroidery as a form of storytelling, each creature shaped through deliberate choices in stitching, materials, and colour. Her works unfold as tactile narratives, imbued with both whimsy and precision.

A commitment to sustainability and ethical making lies at the core of Gwyneth’s practice. Upcycled components and deadstock fabrics are not merely materials, but expressions of care, responsibility, and quiet resistance. Found objects become anchors between the everyday and the fantastical, prompting reflection on the social and imaginative possibilities of reuse.

Gwyneth is a recent graduate of the Royal School of Needlework.
