Yolanda Lopez Mexican
Yolanda Lopez is a distinguished Mexican artist whose extensive educational background and diverse experiences have significantly shaped her practice in contemporary art. She has pursued the Seminario Estética y Filosofía del Arte (2024) and a continuous seminar on Art History led by Esteban Calderón from 2015 to 2024.
Lopez has participated in various workshops that have honed her skills in multiple mediums, such as valuing artworks and photography at Hydra+Fotografía (2022), landscape practices at CaSa Centro de las Artes de San Agustín (2021), and textile experimentation with Jerildy Bosch (2017).
Her foundational training includes courses on artist books, collage, and contemporary sculpture from renowned institutions like the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo and the Museo de Arte de Mazatlán.
Lopez has participated in many solo exhibitions including Open Studio in Mexico City (2023), fragmento at Noox Ayuntamiento (2022), Lazos Rotos at Tienda de Abarrotes (2021), and the impactful series Ir y quedarse showcased at the Museo de Arte de Sinaloa and other venues in 2017.
Her work has also received awards, including First Place in Graphics at the Encuentro de Imagen MMXXI: Tierra y Territorio (2021) and First Place in Contemporary Watercolor at the Museo Nacional de la Acuarela Alfredo Guati Rojo (2017).
In addition to her solo exhibits, she has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions which include Afuera era adentro at Club de Golf Bosques (2024), Art Space Bremerhaven in Germany (2023), and multiple participations in the Feria BADA in Mexico City (2022-2023). Her work has also been featured in shows such as Carbon_Border_Voices (2022) and Fine Art Photography at Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece (2020).
Including her early work in graphic design for various institutions from 1982 to 1996, Yolanda Lopez remains committed to pushing artistic boundaries while enriching the contemporary art landscape in Mexico.
