Ruup & Form presents Root // Route, a solo presentation of new paper collages by Erin Hughes at British Art Fair 2026.
Drawing on familiar journeys through Mid Wales, Hughes builds intricate landscapes from paper she has marbled and screen printed by hand, then cut and assembled. Fine lines between fragments recall inlaid stone, while roads, rivers and paths guide the eye through forests, valleys and mountains.
The series explores what it means to feel rooted in a landscape that is continually changing. Returning to familiar routes, Hughes finds new forms in places shaped by weather, seasons and human presence.
