Root // Route: Erin Hughes at British Art Fair 2026
Ruup & Form presents Root // Route, a solo presentation of new paper collages by Erin Hughes at British Art Fair 2026. Drawing on places she travels through regularly in Mid Wales, Hughes creates each landscape from paper she has marbled and screen printed by hand, then cut and assembled. Fine lines between the fragments evoke inlaid stone, while roads, rivers and paths lead the eye through forests, valleys and mountains.
The series reflects on what it means to feel rooted in a place that is always changing. By returning to familiar routes, Hughes finds new forms in landscapes shaped by weather, seasons and human use.
